Preheat oven to 375°F. Put apples into a greased 1 ½-quart-baking dish. (If adding raisins or walnuts, mix with apples). Combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter/margarine. Cut in with pastry blender or fork until crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apples. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is slightly crusty and brown. Serve warm.
