This recipe uses the following spices:

Bean Soup Brenton Style

Ingredients:

2 Tbsp. butter
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 carrots, peeled and shredded
1/8 tsp. The Spice Hunter 100% Organic Ground Cloves
2 cups cooked Great Northern white beans
½ The Spice Hunter 100% Organic California Bay Leaf
1 Tbsp. The Spice Hunter 100% Organic Parsley Flakes
½ tsp. The Spice Hunter 100% Organic Thyme
½ tsp. The Spice Hunter 100% Organic Coarsely Ground Black Pepper
2 tsp. salt to taste
water, to cover

Preparation:

In a heavy soup pan, sauté onions, carrots and cloves in butter until soft, about 5 minutes. Add beans and seasonings, cover all with water. Lightly mash beans, stir. Simmer for 20 minutes until carrots and onions are soft and beans heated through. Season to taste. Remove and discard bay leaves.
