This recipe uses the following spices:

Chipotle Red Sauce

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp. canola oil
1 garlic clove, finely minced
1/3 cup The Spice Hunter Chile Powder
½-1 tsp. The Spice Hunter Chipotle Chile Pepper
1 (15 oz.) can ready-cut peeled tomatoes
1 cup water
1 tsp. sugar
¼ tsp. The Spice Hunter Mediterranean Oregano
¼ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. fresh cilantro, minced

Preparation:

In a 2 quart saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the garlic, chile powder and chipotle chile pepper and sauté for 30 seconds until the spices are fragrant. Watch carefully- spices burn quickly. Add remaining ingredients and simmer over low heat, covered, for 15 minutes, until the flavors have blended. Remove from the heat and cool. Transfer the sauce to the food processor, blend. Salt to taste. Serve hot or cold. Yields 2½ cups.
