This recipe uses the following spices:

Spiced Basmati Rice


1 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 Tbsp. oil or butter
1½ cups basmati rice, rinsed
2 tsp. The Spice Hunter Turkish Cumin Seeds
1 tsp. The Spice Hunter Ground India Turmeric or 100% Organic Ground Turmeric
¼ tsp. The Spice Hunter Chili Powder
2 cups vegetable or chicken stock
4 oz. peas, frozen
1 carrot, diced


Sauté onion and garlic in oil or butter for 5 minutes. Add basmati rice and sauté for 1 minute. Add Turmeric, cumin seeds and chili powder. Cook 1 minute. Add stock, peas and carrot. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
